Veteran actor Clint Eastwood has again announced plans to move permanently behind the camera.

The Dirty Harry star, who has worked a reduced schedule since his turn in 2005's Million Dollar Baby, suggested that his latest role in Gran Torino will be his final appearance.

"It'll probably be my last. I'll be drummed out of it after this one. Every time you do a movie you think: 'Aw, that's enough of that'," he told newspaper Sunday World.

"I always feel it's very comfortable to be behind the camera."

Gran Torino is the story of a racist Korean War veteran who catches a Hmong boy attempting to steal his Gran Torino car.

Eastwood recently admitted that he has struggled to give up acting, despite initially vowing to retire several years ago.
