James Cameron's next project will be a movie about the eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79.

Variety reports that the Titanic director has bought the rights to the upcoming book 'Ghosts of Vesuvius' by Charles Pellegrino.

Cameron is planning to use the non-fictional book to come up with a fictional account of the disaster.
