The drama is a remake of Seung-wan Ryoo's 2000 South Korean movie, comprised of four short films charting the rise and fall of an underworld boss. Forster's remake will relocate the story to New York.
Brad Ingelsby has been hired to pen Die Bad. The writer, a former medical insurance salesman, made his first script sale earlier in the year when Ridley Scott and Leonardo DiCaprio picked up his story The Low Dwellers.
Forster's directing credits include Monster's Ball, Finding Neverland and The Kite Runner.
