Eckhart to lead 'Battle: Los Angeles'

Aaron Eckhart will head the cast of Jonathan Liebesman's sci-fi movie Battle: Los Angeles, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The Dark Knight actor will portray a marine who leads his platoon into battle against invading aliens on the streets of LA.

Producer Neal Moritz earlier described the project as a "huge event movie that can be done at a modest scale".

Chris Bertolini (The General's Daughter) penned the script for the Columbia Pictures action film.
