Samuel L. Jackson has been honoured for his contribution to the movie industry at a Hollywood ceremony.

The Pulp Fiction actor was presented with an American Cinematheque Award at a special bash at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The 59-year-old spent time on the red carpet telling the crowd how proud he was, reports PA.

Justin Timberlake, Sharon Stone and George Lucas were among celebrities who watched Jackson collect the gong.

Al Pacino, George Clooney and Julia Roberts have previously received the honour.
