According to Entertainment Weekly, Paramount executives are considering dropping the project as the rights expire on December 15. The production has secured a cast of Matt Damon, Casey Affleck and Rachel McAdams.
An adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis and Marc Andreyko's graphic novel Torso, the movie will focus on renowned federal agent Eliot Ness. The character (played by Kevin Costner) faced off against Al Capone in 1987's The Untouchables.
Sources for Hollywood Elsewhere suggested that Paramount bosses are reluctant to greenlight Ehren Kruger's script because they would prefer him to make the recently-announced comedy Chef with Keanu Reeves.
