Consumers in the UK spend more money on DVDs than in any other country in Europe, a new report claims.
According to the figures, published in industry magazine Screen Digest, around £2 billion was spent on DVDs in the UK last year, almost double the £1.1 billion in France.
Germans were the third highest spenders at £645 million, compared to £305 million in Holland and £295 million in Spain.
The report went on to predict that by 2007, 93% of all spending on home films would be for the DVD format.
