Summit confirms 'Chipmunks' sequel

Betty Thomas, whose credits include Private Parts, The Brady Bunch Movie and I Spy, will helm the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The first movie in the children's comedy franchise took $360 million worldwide. Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler and Jesse McCartney will return to provide the voices of Alvin, Simon and Theodore.
Jason Lee, who played the chipmunks' human friend Dave, is not yet confirmed. However, it was revealed that the sequel will feature new female characters The Chipettes.
