Leonardo DiCaprio has revealed that he is not determined to win an Oscar.

The 34-year-old actor, who has been put forward for an Academy Award three times, said that he is more interested in being acknowledged for turning in a good performance than receiving the prize.

"I feel like some people are titled as Oscar-hungry, and I would not say that I'm hungry for one. It's not something I've got to have in my life," he told Entertainment Weekly.

"I don't want to jump into the whole cliché about the honour of being nominated. I'm not going there, even though that's the truth."

However, DiCaprio added that he could understand if five-time Oscar nominee and Titanic co-star Kate Winslet was starting to become annoyed with the Academy.

"I think Kate has been nominated a lot. I think I would probably be somewhat frustrated if I were her!" he said.
