Reports that Nicole Kidman would be joining the cast of upcoming fantasy adaptation The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe look to be false.
A statement issued by Walden Media - the company developing the movie - denied that Kidman had been signed up to play the evil White Witch.
"It's a project that we're all very excited about, but unfortunately this is just not true," a spokeswoman told MRIB. "Hopefully we'll have some exciting news soon."
Filming of the Disney-backed epic begins in New Zealand soon with a release planned for Christmas 2005.
