Boyle: 'Trainspotting' sequel could be boring'

The director has agreed to take the helm of Porno, author Irvine Welsh's follow-up to Trainspotting. The story is set two decades after the original movie, following the same characters who are now working in the pornography industry.
"It would concentrate on them being middle-aged and having left behind all the party times," he told Moviehole. "It'd be very different. As they confront middle age...[It] could be very boring, really."
Last month Boyle revealed that production on the film may be suspended until the original stars begin to age, claiming Hollywood vanity means that actors like Ewan McGregor and Robert Carlyle look "exactly the same" as they did in the first film.
