Christopher Nolan's film, starring Christian Bale and Heath Ledger, beat off competition from Mamma Mia! and No Country For Old Men to claim the Love Film accolade.
"There's no doubt that 2008 has been a hugely eventful year for film," said Love Film editor Helen Cowley. "Performances like Heath Ledger's have clearly set the bar higher, so it'll be interesting to see if 2009's crop of new releases can make the grade."
Eagle Eye was named the year's worst film, followed by Pineapple Express and Fool's Gold.
