Kristin Scott-Thomas will play John Lennon's aunt in a new film about the late Beatle's childhood.
The provisionally-titled Nowhere Boy is a reimagining of Lennon's formative years directed by artist Sam Taylor-Wood.
Scott-Thomas has taken the role of Lennon's stern aunt Mimi alongside Anne-Marie Duff, who will be playing the musician's mother. Young actor Aaron Johnson (Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging) will take on the role of the young Beatle.
The screenplay for the Ecosse Films and Film4 production has been penned by Matt Greenhalgh, who picked up a Bafta for his Joy Division biopic Control.
