Cera: 'Arrested' movie is hypothetical

Michael Cera has described the forthcoming Arrested Development movie as "more hypothetical than people think".

Despite Fox Searchlight already signing a deal to adapt the sitcom for the big screen, Cera insisted that the project is still in a very early stage.

Speaking to MTV, he said: "There's no script or anything, so the movie, I think, is more hypothetical than people think."

Referencing speculation that he was "holding out" on committing to the movie, he joked: "I'd possibly play [George Michael Bluth], I'd possibly put the script in my shredder. I may buy a shredder.

"People have asked me about it more than I've heard about it [in an official capacity] but I'd be very interested to see what the story is with it."

Arrested Development aired on Fox from 2003 until 2006.
