'Van Helsing' off to solid start

Worldwide box office takings for Van Helsing over its opening weekend hit $106.9m, Universal has confirmed.
The figure was Universal and UIP's biggest opening weekend of all time, with both US domestic and international figures coming in ahead of previous company record-setter The Mummy.
In the US, the film took in $51.7m during the three days to Sunday. Worldwide, the figure was $55.2m.
The movie currently leads the UK box office chart, having taken nearly £5m.
