Levi, the star of NBC's action series Chuck, will appear opposite the singing rodents in the Betty Thomas-helmed sequel. He will play the cousin of Jason Lee's character from the first movie.
Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler and Jesse McCartney will return to voice the Chipmunks, while their rivals the Chipettes (Brittany, Jeanette and Eleanor) will be introduced in the sequel.
The first Chipmunks movie was a surprise success on its release in 2007, pulling in more than $350 million at the worldwide box office.
