According to Variety, the film will begin as a romantic comedy which sees the pair falling in love after meeting on holiday. However, their relationship soon takes a dangerous twist when they begin to suspect their neighbours of being assassins hired to kill them.
Robert Luketic, who recently directed Heigl in The Ugly Truth, will helm the project for Lionsgate.
School Of Rock's Scott Aversano and Katalyst Films's Jason Goldberg are slated to produce.
Filming is scheduled to start in Atlanta and France next month.
