Matt Damon: "I'm tired of action roles"

Bourne Identity star Matt Damon has said he's tired of appearing in action movies.

The actor has threatened to quit the genre altogether in favour of appearing in more "creative" films.

"Most action films are too limiting for me in terms of what you can bring to the character," Damon told the Daily Record.  "The thing which has always made acting interesting to me is the process of working with others and feeling you're creatively involved."

He added that he only agreed to star in The Bourne Identity and its sequel The Bourne Supremacy after heavy rewrites of the script.  "Even though there are some great action scenes, they're subservient to the characters."
