The Spider-Man 2 star has signed up to play evil magician Horvath in Disney's upcoming blockbuster, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Taking place in modern-day New York, Sorcerer's Apprentice revolves around Baruchel's college student as he is trained by Balthazar Blake (Cage) in the ways of science and magic.
Cage is reuniting with his National Treasure director Jon Turteltaub and Jerry Bruckheimer for the fantasy film. He has also worked with renowned action producer Bruckheimer in The Rock, Con Air and Gone In 60 Seconds.
