Johnny Depp buys own island

Pirates of the Carribean star Johnny Depp has bought his own desert island, The Sun reports today.

The actor, 41, splashed out £1.9 million on a mile-long isle in the Bahamas as a hideaway for girlfriend Vanessa Paradis and children Lily-Rose Melody, 5, and Jack, 2.

Little Halls Pond Cay comes with six white sandy beaches, a central lagoon surrounded by palm trees, its own private harbour and staff quarters.

Depp is currently filming the sequel to the suprise 2003 hit.
