The drama centres on a Vietnam veteran and former boxer (Nolte) who overcomes alcoholism to train his youngest son (Hardy) for a mixed martial arts tournament. Edgerton will play Hardy's brother, who takes him on in the ring.
O'Connor, who last helmed Pride And Glory, will direct Warriors from a script he co-wrote with Anthony Tambakis.
Nolte last appeared on screen in Tropic Thunder, while Hardy can currently been seen in biopic Bronson.
