Princess Beatrice plays a cameo role in the the feature, which stars Emily Blunt as Queen Victoria and Rupert Friend as Prince Albert, and tells the story of their romance.
A source told the News Of The World that while the Queen thought the film had many good points, she likes accuracy.
"She wasn't too impressed they had Albert diving in front of Victoria to take the bullet in an assassination attempt. It simply did not happen and Her Majesty questioned the need for such a dramatic inaccuracy. She also thought the uniforms worn by the British officers looked too Germanic," the source explained.
Screenwriter Julian Fellowes already admitted that a number of other inaccuracies existed, although he claimed that viewers simply care about whether it makes good viewing.
