3D Pixar movie to open Cannes
A 3D Pixar film will be the first movie shown at this year's Cannes festival, it has emerged.

Up, from Pete Docter and Bob Peterson, will be the first ever animated film to kick off the event, AFP reports.

Festival director Thierry Fremaux said: "We are happy to have 3D open Cannes, as it is one of cinema's upcoming adventures.

"We are very proud to welcome Pixar studios, it's brilliant world, its talented directors and producers."

Produced by John Lasseter, Up will have its global premiere at the festival on May 13 before its US release on May 29.
