Vanessa Redgrave has joined the cast of Russell Crowe's untitled Robin Hood movie, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The veteran British actress will play Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine, mother to feuding brothers John and Richard. French actress Lea Seydoux is also onboard as Princess Isabella, while Body Of Lies actor Oscar Isaac will portray the evil King John.

Already among the cast are Crowe as the arrow-wielding outlaw, Cate Blanchett as Maid Marion, Scott Grimes as Will Scarlet, Kevin Durand as Little John, Alan Doyle as balladeer Alan-a-Dayle, and Mark Strong as John's henchman Sir Godfrey.

Ridley Scott is directing the medieval epic for Universal, which revolves around Robin Hood's early years fighting in the Crusades and his return to Nottingham to overthrow the Sheriff.

The movie begins filming in the UK next month for a May 14, 2010 release.
