Ken Loach: 'Eric Cantona had no ego'

The director told The Guardian that the footballer, who was once banned for kicking a fan, caused no problems during filming.
Loach said: "He had no ego at all; he was just one of the lads. I think that's one of the things that sport teaches you. You are only as good as the team around you.
"Very few players have ever captured the public imagination like Cantona. He has a natural projection, a natural warmth. You can read him on the pitch in the same way you can read an actor in the theatre."
Looking For Eric tells the story of a depressed postman in Manchester who receives spiritual guidance from the footballing legend. It is released on June 12.
