Crowe lops hair to avoid 'rocker' Hood

The New Zealand-born actor revealed that he feared his lengthy locks could have made the legendary people's hero appear more like a rocker.
Crowe, who will star opposite Cate Blanchett in the Ridley Scott film, added that his incarnation of the archer will also not be wearing tights.
"Basically, the period we're dealing with is 1198 to 1202 and tights weren't invented for another 400 years," he told Extra TV, adding: "I do have a pretty nice, snazzy pair of leather pants with a rather large cod-piece."
The 44-year-old said that he was "excited" to start work on the movie, which is scheduled for release next May.
