Tobey Maguire to star in F1 biopic

Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire has signed up for F1 biopic The Limit, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie is based on Michael Cannell's new book Limit, which tells the story of real-life friends and racing rivals Phil Hill and Wolfgang von Trips.

The pair were pitted against each other in 1961, when they both drove for the Ferrari team. Maguire will play the role of Hill.

Maguire is also producing the project for Columbia alongside Jenno Topping and Cathy Schulman.

Tony Peckham, who wrote Clint Eastwood's upcoming feature The Human Factor and Guy Ritchie's new Sherlock Holmes, has been tapped to pen the script.
