Based on Michael Connolly's 2005 bestseller, the legal thriller will be produced by Lakeshore Entertainment.
McConaughey will play low-level criminal defence attorney Mickey Haller, who lands himself a wealthy client who appears to be innocent. However, Haller's life is thrown into danger when he finds out that there is a connection to one of his old murder cases.
No director or screenwriter have signed for the project yet.
