Amber Tamblyn is in talks to join the cast of Main Street, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Last week, it was announced that Orlando Bloom is eyeing the part of a local police officer in the drama, written by late playwright Horton Foote.

Tamblyn is being lined up to play the lead role in the movie, about the impact a stranger's arrival has on residents in a tightly-bound community.

British theatre director John Doyle is making his feature film debut on Main Street. His ensemble cast includes Andrew McCarthy, Ellen Burstyn, Patricia Clarkson and Colin Firth.
