Michael Moore angry with CNN anchor

Filmmaker Michael Moore - of Bowling For Columbine and Fahrenheit 9/11 fame - is reported to have been "very angry" about questions posed to him during a CNN interview, and made sure the anchor in question knew it.
On CNN's blog for the Democratic National Convention, CNN.com producer Susan Pettit recounted that Moore walked up to American Morning anchor Bill Hemmer and said:
"'Some people want you dead? 'Some people want you dead,' Bill? Why would you say that on live TV? Would you say that to Bush or Kerry?'"
Hemmer, who had been in a conversation with someone else at the time, replied: "I'll be with you in a second, Michael." Moore then walked away.
Then, according to Pettit's blog entry, baffled reporters asked Moore what he meant by his remarks. Moore's reply: "You'll have to watch CNN." An account of the incident by Ryan Lizza posted on The New Republic magazine's blog adds that Moore also remarked: "A lot of our kids are dead because those fuckers haven't done their job."
It turns out that Moore was unhappy with the following line of questioning he'd received from Hemmer on American Morning earlier that day. The following is from a CNN transcript of the show:
---
HEMMER: Let's move away from that. I've heard people say Michael Moore is the greatest living American.
MOORE: Oh, who are those people?
HEMMER: I've heard people say they wish Michael Moore were dead.
MOORE: Oh, well. Jeez, who would say that?
HEMMER: How do you take in the reaction that you are getting? And there is no one who is neutral after they see your film.
MOORE: Well, there's a -- there's that minority of Republicans and right-wingers who are upset, because they know their days of numbered. I'd be upset, too, if I were them. You know, they've only got a few more months left in charge. And so they're all running around, all saying crazy things like that.
HEMMER: The DNC did not invite you here, is that right?
MOORE: The Congressional Black Caucus invited me here, yes. Yes.
HEMMER: Enjoy your week.
MOORE: Those black congressmen, you know.
HEMMER: Thanks for your time. Michael Moore, the filmmaker from "Fahrenheit 9/11."
MOORE: Right. Thank you very much.
HEMMER: All right.
