Speaking to DS, the actor admitted that he had been wary about the prospect of spending 14 weeks shooting the upcoming Richard Curtis comedy in the North Sea.
"I'd never been at sea, apart from maybe a little ferry ride. I was a bit worried about being seasick but, if anything, I was landsick! When I got off the boat I would vomit a lot," he explained.
O'Dowd, who plays breakfast jock Simon Swafford, joked: "Why did I vomit? I couldn't face the bloody earth anymore! The North Sea is my home now!"
