According to IESB.net, the Star Trek actor is among the frontrunners to land the part of pilot-turned-superhero Hal Jordan in Martin Campbell's upcoming live-action adaptation.
Speaking to MTV News, Pine said: "I had a meeting with [casting director] Pam Dixon and [executive producer] Donald De Line, but a meeting was all it was. I have not been offered squat. I do not have the part and haven’t read a script."
He added: "I'm not a big comic book fan... I'm a fan of stories, so if there's a story to be told, I love to tell a good story. But, there's not a particular superhero or comic book character that I'd like to play."
Other potential candidates reportedly include Terminator Salvation star Sam Worthington, while Mad Men's John Hamm and Firefly actor Nathan Fillion were allegedly ruled out for being the wrong age.
Green Lantern is scheduled to begin production in Australia later this year, with a December 17, 2010 release date.
