US columnist fired over 'Wolverine' review

In a statement, Fox News confirmed that it had "mutually agreed to part ways" with long-time entertainment journalist Roger Friedman after he admitted to watching a pirated version of the highly-anticipated 20th Century Fox film.
Writing in his Fox 411 column, Friedman had claimed that viewing the illegal film was "so much easier than going out in the rain".
He added: "I doubt anyone else has seen this film. But everyone can relax. I am, in fact, amazed about how great Wolverine turned out. It exceeds expectations at every turn."
Bosses were reportedly concerned that Friedman's opinion could be seen to condone movie piracy.
The superhero prequel was illegally downloaded around 100,000 times from file-sharing websites before it was detected and removed. The studio has since confirmed that both the FBI and the Motion Picture Association of America are "actively investigating" the incident.
