A walk-on part in Breck Eisner's horror remake The Crazies has been put up for auction on eBay.

Eisner's reimagining of George A. Romero's 1974 cult classic will tell the story of a small Iowa town, which suddenly finds its inhabitants going crazy and dying after a plane crash leaks a biological weapon in the water supply.

The proceeds from the auction will be given to Greenpeace, while the highest bidder will star alongside Tim Olyphant and Radha Mitchell as an infected local.

"Since The Crazies deals with the dangers of bio-toxins, we're delighted to be able to offer fans the opportunity to realise their dreams of appearing in a horror film while supporting an organisation dedicated to protecting the environment," said Participant Media's president Ricky Strauss.
