Minnelli pleads to Garland producers

Liza Minnelli has pleaded with producers of Judy Garland’s biopic to steer away from certain content in the movie.

Minnelli has urged the makers of Get Happy not to focus on her late mother’s drug addiction, WENN reports.

The Oscar-winning actress is reportedly pleased with the casting of Anne Hathaway as Garland, but hopes that the project will focus on the Wizard Of Oz star's talent rather than her personal demons.

"I hope that it's a good movie and I hope that it's true," she told Canada’s Citytv: "You know, that they don't just concentrate on the crap like they usually do.

“[I hope] that they talk about her the way she should be talked about, which was she was a fabulous entertainer, a great mother and just a wonderful human being."
