Angelina Jolie has resumed talks to join the cast of Robert Rodriguez's sequel to Sin City, reports Moviehole.

According to an unnamed producer, the actress is being courted to play Ava Lord, the lead character in Frank Miller's 1994 graphic novel A Dame To Kill For. Clive Owen has been loosely tipped to reprise his role of Dwight McCarthy, Ava's former lover.

Jolie was first linked to the role in 2006, and later admitted that she was "curious" about the possibility of appearing in the big screen adaptation.

Earlier this year, Miller confirmed that he had penned the script for Sin City 2 and that production was slated to begin later this month.
