'Milk' banned in Samoa
Samoan film censors have banned the film Milk from being on sale in the country.

The Oscar-winning drama starring Sean Penn has been rejected by the country’s censorship board, WENN reports. An application for distribution of the DVD in stores did not make it past the board, with the decision creating outrage throughout the region.

Samoan human rights activist Ken Moala said: "I do not think it should be banned. It is basically a documentary about the human endeavour to conquer something that people tend to discriminate against.

"It's really harmless, I don't know how it would affect [the] Samoan lifestyle."

Penn won an Academy Award for his portrayal of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to be elected to office in California.
