The comedy drama will star Dakota Fanning as a daughter who pays a surprise visit to her Hollywood bad boy-type father, played by Stephen Dorff.
Coppola had to get special permission to film at LA hotel Chateau Marmont, and told Total Film that she has been yearning to "make an intimate story set in contemporary Los Angeles".
The film will be released through Focus Features, the company that produced Coppola’s Lost In Translation.
