Short will reunite with Stomp The Yard director Sylvain White and stars alongside Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Zoe Saldana and Idris Elba in the movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Short will play "wise-cracker" Pooch. The original Vertigo/DC Comics vehicle was about a black ops team, which is betrayed by the government and left for dead.
Short's upcoming projects include comedy remake Death At A Funeral and heist thriller Armoured.
