'Twilight' star tapped for 'Elm Street'

The actor, who plays Emmett Cullen in the vampire franchise, is said to be in final negotiations to take on the role of Dean, a popular high school jock, reports Entertainment Weekly.
Lutz would join Jackie Earle Haley, who has been confirmed to star as Freddy Krueger, Smallville's Kyle Gallner and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles star Thomas Dekker. Actress Rooney Mara is also thought to be in talks for the project.
Transformers director Michael Bay will produce the Samuel Bayer-helmed film, which is slated for release on April 16, 2010.
