'Blue Valentine' recruits Gosling, Williams

Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams will play a married couple whose relationship is falling apart in independent drama Blue Valentine.

The Derek Cianfrance-directed movie will focus on the pair as they recall happier days, reports Variety. Cianfrance also wrote the script alongside Cami Delavigne and Joey Curtis.

The movie, which recently started production in New York and Pennsylvania, also features Mike Vogel, John Doman and Maryann Plunkett among its cast.

The film is Gosling's second collaboration with producers Lynette Howell, Jamie Patricof and Alex Orlovsky, who oversaw his Oscar-nominated performance in Half Nelson.
