Fox, Blue Sky team for 3-D animation 'Rio'
20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios will team up for 3-D animated film Rio.

The movie's story will follow a sheltered macaw who leaves his cage in Minnesota and flies off to Rio de Janeiro, reports Variety.

Ice Age: The Meltdown's Brazilian-born helmer Carlos Saldanha will direct Rio, a passion project he has been working on for several years. He is currently completing Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs, which will be released worldwide in July.

Rio has been handed an April 8, 2011 release date by Fox.
