Fast & Furious star Paul Walker and director Simon West are in talks to make action movie Protection.

The thriller would see Walker take on the role of an agent charged with protecting the 21-year-old daughter of a Mexican judge who becomes a target for the mob, says The Hollywood Reporter.

West's involvement is reportedly contingent on him being able to free up time in his schedule. He has previously steered action blockbusters Con Air and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.

Producers are attempting to sell Protection to a US studio at the Cannes Film Festival.
