DreamWorks to remake 'Fright Night'
DreamWorks is negotiating to remake horror-comedy Fright Night, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Tom Holland's 1985 original centred on a teenager who discovers that his neighbours are vampires. No creative team has been hired for the project yet, though DreamWorks is keen to capitalise on the recent resurgence of vampire films with cutting-edge special effects.

Michael Gaeta and Alison Rosenzweig will produce Fright Night alongside Michael De Luca. The trio are also working together on a remake of The Reincarnation Of Peter Proud and Angel Heart.

DreamWorks's recent forays into the horror genre have not proved successful, with The Uninvited and The Ruins grossing just $46 million between them in the US.
