McG: 'No more Charlie's Angels films'

Rex Features

McG has revealed that he will not helm any more Charlie's Angels films.

The Terminator Salvation director, who steered the first two films based on the popular ’70s TV show, said that he would like to focus exclusively on science fiction-related projects.

Star Drew Barrymore and producing partner Nancy Juvonen are reportedly keen to film a third Angels outing with co-stars Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu.

"I'm trying to grow and work in genres that I'm most comfortable working in," McG told Mania. "I got started in Charlie's Angels, and I wish them every success with another sequel.

"But these are the films that I grew up feeling very passionate about. The Terminator. Blade Runner. The Kubrick pictures."

Terminator Salvation opens in the US on May 21 and the UK on June 3.
