A film version of 1970s cop show Hawaii Five-O is being planned by Warner Bros.

Rumour suggest that Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford or Michael Douglas could soon be taking up the lead role of detective Steve McGarrett.

Filming will begin next spring for a 2006 release.
