According to Variety, the studio picked up the rights to the AIT/Planet Lar graphic novel to use the property as a vehicle for McBride. He will portray a football player who becomes a henchman for a supervillain when injury curtails his sporting career.
Adam Beechen wrote the original comic with art by Manny Bello. McBride and his Eastbound And Down co-writer Shawn Harwell will turn the comic into a screenplay.
McBride is also producing the film alongside Neal Moritz and Jason Netters. He can next be seen opposite Will Ferrell and Anna Friel in Land Of The Lost.
