Bradley Cooper has confirmed that he will play Lt. Templeton 'Faceman' Peck in the upcoming A-Team movie.

The Hangover star had previously denied being involved with the update of the classic ’80s TV show. However, he has now said that he will be taking on the role played by Dirk Benedict on the small screen.

He told Empire: "I think it's on. If it all happens, it would be great. It would be an honour to work with [director] Joe Carnahan."

Other casting rumours have linked Liam Neeson, Bruce Willis, Woody Harrelson and Chris Pine to the project.

Cooper also expressed approval for the reported possibility of rapper Common taking on Mr. T’s iconic role of Sgt Bosco 'B.A.' Baracus, saying: "I like Common, I think Common would be good."

Production on The A-Team begins this August for a June 11, 2010 release.
