Putting an end to last month's speculation, the trio of stars will lend their voices to the all-female rival band of Alvin, Simon and Theodore's in the forthcoming sequel.
Faris told MTV: "I’m a Chipette! And they make my voice sound even more annoying than it already is."
However, the 'House Bunny' actress also admitted that the filmmakers have prevented her from singing in the picture, opting to go with studio musicians instead.
"They’re not letting me sing," she added. "That’s how bad my voice is. They won’t even let me be a Chipmunk singing. Not to worry because [The Chipettes] do sing."
The follow-up to Alvin And The Chipmunks arrives in the US on December 25 and in the UK on December 26.
