A remake of John Milius's 1984 film, Red Dawn centres on a group of US teens who band together to fight off an invasion from Chinese and Russian soldiers.
Chris Hemsworth will lead the cast as high school quarterback Jed Eckhert, with Peck playing his younger brother and Palicki his love interest. The new trio's roles were originated by Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen and Jennifer Grey.
Stunt coordinator and second-unit veteran Dan Bradley (Quantum Of Solace) will make his directorial debut on Red Dawn. Carl Ellsworth and Jeremy Passmore wrote the update of the Cold War action drama.
Red Dawn is expected to arrive in cinemas on September 24, 2010.
